【摘要】:Thisguideisaimedatprovidingageneralunderstandingofthevarioustypesofhardwaredevicesthatformthecoreofinformationprocessingsystemsforshipandmarineuse.Shipandmarineinformationprocessingsystemsrequirespecificdevicesinordertoperformautomatedtasksinaspecializedenvironment.Inadditiontoprovidinginformationservicesforeachindividualinstallation,thesedevicesareoftennetworkedandarecapableofsupplementaryfunctionsthatbenefitsshipandmarineoperations.Avarietyofchoicesexistsfordeploymentofinformationprocessingdevicesandgreatlyincreasesthecomplexityoftheselectiontaskforshipandmarinesystems.Thechoiceofaparticulardeviceorsystemcannotbemadesolelyonthesingularrequirementsofoneapplicationorfunction.Moderninformationprocessingsystemsareusuallyinstalledinacomplexenvironmentwheresystemsmustbemadetointeractwitheachother.Shipandmarineinstallationsaddanevenfurtherlayerofcomplexitytotheprocessofchoosingadequatecomputerizedsystems.Thisguideaimstoalleviatethistaskbygivingusersspecificchoicesthatareproventechnologiesthatperforminacomplexenvironment.Hardwareresourcesusedinshipandmarineinstallationsarearesultofcarefulconsiderationofutilityandfunction.Theseresourcesmayrequiresomephysicalspecializationinordertoinhabitaparticularenvironment,buttheyareinnowaydifferentfromequipmentusedinshore-basedsituations.Shipandmarinecomputersystemconfigurations,interconnections,andsupportservicesareessentiallythesameasthosefoundinaland-basednetworkenvironmentandasaresult,theskillsetsofshipandmarineinformationprocessingsystemusers,administrators,andsupportpersonnelareinterchangeablewiththoseofshore-basedactivities.1.1Thisguideprovidesassistanceinthechoiceofcomputinghardwareresourcesforshipandmarineenvironmentsanddescribes:1.1.1ThecorecharacteristicsofinteroperablesystemsthatcanbeincorporatedintoacceptedconceptssuchastheOpenSystemInterconnection(OSI)model;1.1.2Process-basedmodels,suchastheTechnicalReferenceModel(TRM),thatrelyoninteroperablecomputinghardwareresourcestoprovidetheconnectionbetweentheoperator,network,application,andinformation;and,1.1.3Theintegratedarchitecturethatcanbeusedtomeetminimuminformationprocessingrequirementsforshipandmarineenvironments.1.2TheuseofmodelssuchasOSIandTRMprovideastructuredmethodfordesignandimplementationofpracticalshipboardinformationprocessingsystemsandprovidesplannersandarchitectswitharoadmapthatcanbeeasilyunderstoodandconveyedtoimplementers.Theuseofsuchmodelspermitfunctionalcapabilitiestobeembodiedwithinconcretesystemsandequipment.1.3Theinformationprovidedinthisguideisunderstoodtorepresentasetofconceptsandtechnologiesthathave,overtime,evolvedintoacceptedstandardsthatareproveninvariousfunctionalapplications.However,theoneuniversalnotionthatstillremainsfromtheearliestdaysofinformationprocessingisthattechnologicalchangeisinevitable.Accordingly,theuserofthisguidemustunderstandthatsuchprogressmayrapidlyinvalidateorsupersedetheinformationcontainedherein.Nonetheless,theconceptofimplementingshipandmarinecomputingsystemsbasedonthesefunctionalprinciplesallowsforlogicalandrationaldevelopmentandprovidesasoundprocessforeventualupgradeandimprovement.
