【摘要】:1ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodforassessingtheshort-terminhibitoryeffectsoftestsubstancesonnitrifyingbacteriainactivatedsludge.Theinhibitoryeffectisestimatedoveranexposureperiodof4h.2Themethodissuitableforusewithnitrifyingactivatedsludgederivedfromdomesticsewage.Itisalsopossibletousenitrifyingsludgesderivedfromsyntheticsewage.3Initially,thenitrifyingactivityoftheactivatedsludgeisverifiedbyadditionofaspecificinhibitor(e.g.allylthiourea).Ifthenitrificationrate(see8.1)iswithinasuitablerangeforthetest[2to6,5milligramsofnitrogenpergramsuspendedsolidsperhour(2mgofN/(g·h)to6,5mgofN/(g·h)],thesludgeisuseddirectly;ifnot,adjustmentsarenecessary(seeclause9).4Themethodisapplicabletonon-volatilechemicalsubstanceswhicharesolubleinwaterandalsotowastewaters.Itispossibletouseinsolublesubstances,ifcareistakentoensureasmuchhomogeneityaspossible.5Itisimportanttostressthatsludgesfromdifferentsourcesresponddifferentlytoagivenconcentrationofanin-hibitorandthisisprobablydue,atleastinpart,toreactionbe-tweentheinhibitorandcomponentsofthesludgeresultinginapartialnullifyingofthetoxiceffect.Also,sincethetestlastsonly4h,itmustbeborneinmindthatanyinhibitoryeffectsmaydiminish,orincrease,overalongerperiod,e.g.inthecon-tinuousactivatedsludgesystem.
